Chesapeake Bay Foundation does not guarantee accuracy and is not responsible for misuse of the data. Data should not be used for navigation. The datum for this bathymetric DEM is not the same as that used by the US Geological survey (USGS) for land based DEMs which results in a discontinuity if the two datasets are merged together. Moreover, the shoreline for the USGS DEMs is indeterminate and not the same as that used for the Bathymetric DEMs. |
